Fuller Sotheby’s International Realty (FSIR), recently sponsored the second annual City Slicker Soiree to benefit Roundup River Ranch – the camp where kids with chronic and life-threatening illnesses can truly enjoy the joys of childhood for free – forever. With over 250 in attendance, the event raised nearly $150,000 to benefit the camp, which is equivalent to a weeklong camp session for 60 children. “We are grateful for the support we received from all who attended the City Slicker Soiree,” said Ruth Johnson, President & CEO of Roundup River Ranch.

Wendy Handler, Amanda Prager, Virgina Bowers, and Deborah Fagan

FSIR broker associates Debra Fagan and Wendy Handler threw their hats in the ring as official Ten Gallon Hat Sponsors for the evening.  “I can’t be a doctor or a nurse who can heal these kids of their diseases, but I love being able to raise money and awareness of a place that helps to heal their souls,” explained Fagan. In addition to Fagan co-hosting the soiree, Wendy Handler was instrumental in fundraising, securing many of the auction items at the event. These included Joe King of The Fray who donated a visit to a child’s classroom to talk about his inspirations, rise to fame, and the music business, a guided fly fishing trip for two on private water donated by The Flyfisher group, and a chef’s dinner for ten donated by Frank Bonanno which raised $9,000 for the camp.

Held at the History Colorado Center Saturday, October 27, 2012, guest donned in western-chic attire, sampled local cuisine from Denver’s top chefs, were serenaded by legendary entertainer Pete Martinez, and participated in both live and silent auctions. Dr. Lia Gore of the Children’s Hospital Colorado and University of Colorado Denver spoke on Saturday night about the camp as a place her patients can go to heal their souls.
